Chesterton Primary School

Message from Danine Smith, Head of School

Welcome to Chesterton. We are an Ofsted Outstanding 2 Form Entry inner city primary school situated in the heart of Battersea, south west London. We are a UNICEF Rights Respecting school which holds the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at its heart. Our rich curriculum empowers pupils to be active, global citizens and develop a participatory approach to their world. Learning through rights allows our pupils to cultivate positive relationships with both peers and adults, supporting their education for life.

We’re fortunate to have a Children's Centre co-located on our school site meaning we can offer education, and a wide range of services, for families and their children aged 0 to 11. Our school leads the South West London Maths Hub, the Wandle Teaching School Alliance, the Wandle English Hub and the Wandle Early Years Hub

Within this website you’ll find news and information about all aspects of Chesterton life; from our al fresco classrooms and outdoor reading spaces, to our exciting mastery approach to teaching maths curriculum and our PE and Music departments. Please take a look at our latest KS1 and KS2 results here.

Whether you’re an existing Chesterton parent, a new parent looking for the right school for your child, or a teacher looking for your next career move I hope you find everything you need. If you have any questions about the school, or suggestions for any further information you’d like to see on the website, please contact us.

We run regular open days and if you’d like to visit the school at any other time please call the school office to make an appointment.
